All - If you guys have been following my diary of carb problems (i think the're fixed now by the way) you will recall I had to get a new vacuum piston (carb slide). Today, at the fssnoc lunch a Kawasaki KLR rider had a similar incident happen to him last week while enroute to the mid ohio classic bike rally. He said it went into a 60 mph top end speed mode. This was the clue as to the problem. Had a hard time finding a dealer willing to get him one. A Suzuki dealer helped him with finding the part apparently, since he said the Kawa dealer was less than helpful. Cost of the Kawa part was 185.00. Makes the Suzi part 97.00 look cheap. He did have over 75000 miles on his KLR however. In terms of cost per mile I guess his was cheaper after all - rats!
